TATTOO FAQ
At Sedation Ink we administer IV sedation using a personalized blend of medications tailored to your specific requirements, providing you with a painless tattoo experience.
Not at all, it improves the quality of your tattoo by giving you a painless experience and giving your artists a relaxed canvas on which they can work their magic.
The effect of medical anesthesia will be tailored according to the tattoo procedure you will be getting, ensuring a continuous comfort. However, the longest session will go for no more than 8 hours.
Before administering any anesthesia, we carry out a medical assessment to ensure your safety. Some health factors may influence eligibility for the use of anesthesia and this will be assessed in case by case basis.
From the moment the anesthesia takes effect until you awaken, you won’t retain any memory or sensation. The profound relaxation induced by the anesthesia leaves you with a rejuvenated sensation upon waking.
At Sedation Ink, we provide written detailed tattoo aftercare instructions to ensure a quick and safe recovery.
On the day of your tattoo session, it’s essential to have a responsible adult accompany you, they must be capable of driving you to your overnight accommodation. During the following 24 hours, refrain from operating machinery, handling sharp objects, signing legal documents, or making significant decisions, as the medication’s effects may impair your judgment.
Please refrain from consuming any food after midnight on the evening preceding your scheduled anesthesia. Up to 2 hours before your tattoo session, you may have 8oz of fluids (sports drink, electrolyte solution, or water). It’s crucial not to ingest any liquids within 2 hours of the session, including chewing gum, candy, or mints that stimulate saliva production. This precaution is for your safety.
Before leaving our office, you must demonstrate the ability to drink a small amount of water. Following full recovery from the anesthesia, you may resume eating as usual.
Like all aspects of life, there are inherent risks involved, but it’s important to note that anesthesia is highly safe. Statistically, the likelihood of experiencing complications from anesthesia is exceedingly rare compared to the risks encountered in everyday activities such as driving. Prior to your anesthesia procedure, you will be provided with an anesthesia consent form outlining any potential complications. Though these risks are remote, they are acknowledged as part of the informed consent process.
